Is your treatment for EIPH (bleeding in the lungs) a blood coagulant (thickening of the blood)?
It is important to understand the short and long-term effects products may have. 
Disclaimer: Race Today is not a blood coagulant or blood thinner! It in fact works by healing and strengthening the alveolar-capillary barrier in the lungs. Because of this, it has no negative side effects and with long-term use the lungs are simply stronger and healthier. 
Blood coagulants however do have long-term effects. As you may know, bloods primary job is to transfer oxygen to its vital organs. When there is a shortage of oxygen, those organs are more likely to fail. When blood is coagulated it is not able to efficiently provide enough oxygen for organs to properly function and over time it can cause these organs to fail. 
Bottom line: Be cautious of the “supplements” you are giving your horse to treat or prevent EIPH. Most are loaded with ingredients that actually cause the horses blood to become coagulated which will do far more damage than good.
